ICCI keen to encourage Women entrepreneurship-Zafar Bakhtawari December 21, 2012

A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) led by its President Mr.Zafar Bakhtawari visited the Central & North Punjab Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNPWCCI) for discussing the plans for promotion and growth of women business enterprises. 

Speaking on the occasion, Mr.Zafar Bakhtawari, President ICCI lauded the devoted efforts of Ms.Qaisera Sheikh, President, CNPWCCI and Ms.Kokab Parveen, former President CNPWCCI for supporting women in heir business development initiatives.
 
He said that establishment of CNPWCCI was a positive step towards the development of the country as women-owned businesses as well as self-employed women currently constitute an important and growing share of the business community in Pakistan.
 
ICCI President said it is very encouraging that women in Pakistan are now participating in all spheres of economic life and are contributing significantly to the well being of their families as well as to the national economy.
 
Mr.Bakhtawari was of the view that by motivating and properly utilizing the abundance of women's human capital in our country and by increasing their participation in enterprises, start-up business and other economic activities, Pakistan can greatly enhance its competitive position and lure domestic as well as foreign investors.
 
Mr.Munawar Mughal, Former President ICCI also expressed hopes that collaboration of ICCI and CNPWCCI would result into the promotion and growth of women business enterprises, which would ultimately lead to creation of more job opportunities in the country and strengthening of our economy and country at large.
 
Ms.Qaisera Sheikh, President, CNPWCCI informed the meeting that the chamber aims to provide one window facility for potential women entrepreneurs as well as determined to elevate the status of women by involving them fully in entrepreneurial activities.
 
She said that during the last three years CNPWCCI has made a major impact in the women business world through very effective networking, training, endless exhibitions and delegations within the country and abroad.
