ICCI for promoting Real Estate industry to boost economic activities November 10, 2014

Real Estate sector plays a big role in activating almost 40 allied industries and creating lot of jobs and government should focus on promoting this industry to boost economic activities, said M. Shakeel Munir, Acting President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry while addressing a delegation of Islamabad Real Estate Welfare Association that visited ICCI led by its President Abid Khan. 
 
He said USA, China and many other strong economies achieved fast economic growth by promoting real estate industry and Pakistan should also facilitate the better growth of this sector to realize economic benefits associated with its development. 
 
He said according to a World Bank report, Pakistan is facing acute shortage of housing units and needs to build 1-million houses per year to cope with the rising demand of people. He urged that government should support the real estate industry and address its key issues in order to provide better living facilities to the people. He also congratulated Abid Khan and other office bearers of Islamabad Real Estate Welfare Association and hoped that the first time election of this association in Islamabad will play a positive role for the betterment of businessmen of real estate sector in the region. 
 
Speaking at the occasion, Abid Khan, President, Islamabad Real Estate Welfare Association vowed to work for the welfare of real estate sector businessmen so that they could feel facilitated in promoting business ventures. 
 
He said the better development of real estate industry is of paramount importance for the country as it promotes many other industries and gives boost to lot of economic activities, therefore, government should give high priority to providing attractive incentives for investment in this sector and address this sector’s issues on urgent basis. 
 
M. Ashfaq Hussain Chatha, Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry also congratulated the newly elected office bearers of Islamabad Real Estate Welfare Association and stressed for the need of supporting this industry as it has lot of potential to develop and achieve beneficial results for the economy.
