CDA asked to allocate separate place for car dealers in Islamabad February 20, 2017
Meeting at ICCI
Khalid Iqbal Malik, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has said that throughout the world, car dealers were allocated separate place for doing business, but there was no such arrangement in Islamabad due to which car dealers were doing business in markets, but this situation has created parking and other issues in markets. He urged upon the Chairman CDA and Mayor Islamabad Sheikh Anser Aziz to consider allocating a separate place to car dealers in the federal capital. He was addressing the delegation of Traders Welfare Association, G-8 Markaz, Islamabad that visited ICCI led by its newly elected President Raja Khurram Niaz.
Khalid Iqbal Malik said that G-8 Markaz was an important business centre of Islamabad but was facing many problems. He stressed that CDA in consultation with ICCI and market unions should formulate a new strategy to develop all major markets including G-8 Markaz on modern lines for better growth of business activities. Khalid Malik Senior Vice President and Tahir Ayub Vice President ICCI assured the G-8 Markaz market union that Chamber would fully cooperate in addressing its major issues.
Raja Khurran Niaz, newly elected President of Traders Welfare Association, G-8 Markaz, Islamabad highlighted the key issues of his market. He said that CDA in 1997 had agreed in principal to earmark a separate place for car dealers business and a file was also moved for this purpose, but no tangible progress has been made to this effect as yet. He emphasized that CDA should reactivate that file to allocate a separate space for car dealers business in the federal capital.
He said the condition of roads, footpaths, streetlights, sewerage, filtration plant, public toilets and other facilities was also not satisfactory in G-8 Markaz and emphasized that CDA should focus on better development of this important business centre. He said non-availability of a new rent control law was the hot issue of traders in Islamabad due to which rent disputes were on the rise. He called upon the government to arrange early promulgation of a balanced rent law in Islamabad.
Raja Naveed Satti newly elected Senior Vice President, Waseem Abbasi Secretary General, Ejaz Abbasi Group Chairman, Khalid Chaudhry, Sardar Abid, Muhammad Naveed Malik, Farman Paracha, Qazi Muhammad Ilyas, Sheikh Amir Waheed and others also spoke at the occasion.
