Courts should be shifted from the residential Centre-Yassar Sakhi Butt November 01, 2011
Meeting at ICCI
An Association of landlords from F-8 Markaz has visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) and met with Mr. Yassar Sakhi Butt, President ICCI to discuss the various issues faced by them.

The main agenda of the meeting was regarding shifting of Courts from the market because of which the landlords as well as the residents of the area are suffering for the last more than 20 years being a security hazard for the residents of the area as well having devastating affects for entire community.

Rental value of the area as well as resale value is the lowest among all the commercial hubs of the city. Traffic nuisance as well as waste mismanagement and chocked sewerage causing smell and destruction have become hallmarked of the area. The landlords appealed to take the issue to the concerned authorities at the highest level so that the matter be resolved as it is high time for courts to be shifted from the centre of posh residential district which will give a sign of relief for the landlords as well as the residents of the locality.

Yassar Sakhi Butt, President ICCI was of the view that due to these activates the entire community has been put on high security risk and the customers were not able to approach the market because of placement of steel wires surrounding the court premises.

He also called for revision of lease renewal rates because rental value of properties located in F-8 Markaz was very low as compare to other posh sectors and charging them at par with the sectors such as F-6 and F-7 which is unfair. Butt said that Government should compensate the landlords of F-8 Markaz instead of levying taxes even on vacant properties.

He said that presences of various Madrassah were also causing security risks for the residents of F-8 Sector. He urged the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and other concerned bodies to decide the exact replacement for it.

Expressing their grievances, the landlords of F-8 Markaz said that presence of police offices and courts in the F-8 Markaz was also a predicament for the residents of the sector and visitors to the commercial area adjacent to the courts. They said that car parking issue of F-8 Markaz would be solved if courts will be shifted to any other proper place.
