ICCI urges Pak-India scouts to promote peace between countries May 03, 2012

A delegation of Indian scouts led by Joint Director Scouts Association of India Gita Rawat visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Addressing a Pak-India Scouts gathering, Shahid Zaman Shinwari, Vice President ICCI said that scouts movement is playing an important role in promoting peace and harmony across the world. He said that scouting is very important for the growth of students as scouts have the duty to propagate the message of peace, brotherhood and reconciliation among the nations.

ICCI Vice President said that recent visit of Indian scouts to Pakistan would not only strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries but also help resolve other conflicts between them.

He said that the visit of Indian scouts was a good step towards enhancing mutual relations and it also projected the message that people of India and Pakistan have cordial relations.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shaheen Khan, International Commissioner of Pakistan Boy Scouts Association expressed gratitude to ICCI team for inviting them and highlighted the role of Pakistan Boy Scouts Association and said scouts are the messengers of peace as they disseminate this message to every corner of the world.

Joint Director Scouts Association of India Gita Rawat said that the team was on Pakistan visit under a pilot project 'Messenger of Peace' to spread the message of peace and harmony. She said that the affection and friendliness of Pakistani people towards them was unforgettable.
