MECCAward team visits ICCI for promoting the idea of Excellence Culture July 05, 2012
Meeting at ICCI
The Muslim Excellence and Competitiveness Corporation’s Award (MECCAward) team visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) to give presentation on objectives of the award.
The three members team included Hasnain Reza Mirza, Commissioner to Pakistan and Chief national promoter by the OIC MECC Award, Moustapha Baghdadi, Head of MECC Award Assessment Department and Member of MECC Award Experts Committee and Khashayar Ghulam Ali Ataie, Coordinator. They discussed the objectives, concepts, activities and MECCAward excellence levels. They said that those achieve highest score are chosen as the role model at the level of Islamic countries and will receive awards.
They said that the award grant ceremony will be held this year the prize will be offered to applicants’ assessed based on manual and award timetable. Entry to MECCAward is open to any kind of high performing organization operating within the Islamic countries.
The team highlighted that the main purpose of MECCAward is to encourage organizations to perform self assessment operations, using experiences of qualified Islamic organizations in order to recognize their own merits as well as needed improvements.
Speaking on the occasion, Asad Farid, Acting President ICCI congratulated the Research & Information Centre of OIC Islamic Chamber of Commerce & Industry for launching MECCAward and said that it is a very good initiative to recognize the role of most successful organizations of Islamic world and give them a prominent identity. 
ICCI Acting President said that MECCAward would promote healthy competition in Muslim countries organizations and would play an important role in enhancing their efficiency and competitiveness in international trading. It will definitely enable the Muslim world business entities to increase their compatibility with global markets, he added.
He underlined the need of greater interaction and cooperation among Muslim Countries and said that the level of economic and commercial cooperation among Muslim countries should be increased on sound footings.
Asad Farid expressed hope that MECCAward programs in Pakistan would promote healthy business competition in Pakistan by contributing positively in developing and implementing corporate excellence and best business practices in our organizations. 
Referring to multiple challenges facing the Muslim Ummah, he stressed upon all the Muslim Countries to harness the potential that it possess for developing their countries.
