ICCI expresses condolences to bereaved families of plane crash

Muhammad Ahmed Waheed, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has expressed deep sorrow over the crash of a PIA plane in Karachi in which 97 people lost their lives and said that the tragic accident has saddened the entire nation. He expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the accident and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families. He said that may Allah Almighty keep the departed souls in enteral peace and grant the courage and fortitude to bereaved families to bear this great loss. Mohammad Ahmad Waheed termed the plane crash as a national tragedy. He said that Pakistan's economy was already suffering due to the coronavirus pandemic while the plane crash has further saddened the nation. He appealed to the entire nation to celebrate this Eid-ul- Fitr simply and those who have lost their lives in the plane crash should be remembered while praying on the occasion of Eid prayers. He further said that following the government's instructions, social distance should be maintained on the occasion of Eid prayers and hugging should be avoided so that with joint efforts we could play role in controlling the spread of Covid-19. The ICCI President further said that due to the plane crash, the Pakistani nation was in a state of shock at the moment but was standing with the bereaved families, PIA administration and the government in this difficult time. He hoped that the PIA administration would take all possible measures to prevent such tragic accidents and work on effective reforms to make the lives of the passengers safer. He stressed that a neutral and transparent inquiry of the incident should be conducted to bring the facts before the nation.
