Muzzamil Hussain Sabri, President, M. Shakeel Munir Senior Vice President and M. Ashfaq Hussain Chatha, Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIAP), Islamabad and met with Muhammad Ayyaz Jadoon, Airport Manager, Civil Aviation Authority. They stressed for setting up a facilitation desk for businessmen at BBIAP that will help in boosting trade and exports of the country.
They said that government should improve infrastructure at existing airports and construct new airports in the country to meet the rising needs of air cargo. They said that air connectivity of Pakistan with Central Asian and African countries would help in boosting bilateral trade with these potential markets and government should seriously consider establishing direct air links with these regions. They also appreciated the initiatives of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) aimed at improving the services at airports.
Muhammad Ayyaz Jadoon, Airport Manager, Civil Aviation Authority, Benazir Bhutto International Airport briefed the ICCI delegation about the measures being taken for providing better services to the air travelers. He said a business lounge has been formed at BBIAP to facilitate the business community.
He said BBIAP was handling 4.4 million passengers annually and new teams were in the offing to guide the passengers. He said air travelers were getting specialized services on fee payment and the airports of the country were being revamped to give them a modern look. He said the parking area at BBIAP was expanded with bigger capacity for car parking. He said CAA has launched a new website at BBIAP to provide updated flights information, weather reports and position of the access roads leading to Islamabad Airport. He assured that CAA would continue to provide facilities and services to the air travelers at airports at par with other countries so that our passengers could enjoy modern travelling facilities.
