 A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by its Senior Vice President Mr. M. Shakeel Munir and Vice President M. Ashfaq Hussain Chatha is on a visit to Europe to explore trade promotion opportunities. The other delegation members included Naeem Siddiqui, M. Faheem Khan, Zahoor Ahmed Khan, Abid Latif, Shabbir Ahmed, Tariq Javed, Ashar Hafeez, Zia Khalid Chaudhry and M. Imran who are representing various sectors including marble, textiles, oil manufacturers, real estate & construction, IT & Telecom, automobile and importers & exporters. 
 
The delegation has so far visited Hungary, Austria and Czech Republic and held fruitful meetings with private sectors of these countries to identify new areas of cooperation for promoting Pakistan’s trade with Europe. 
 
Addressing the Hungarian counterparts at Hungarian National Trading House, M. Shakeel Munir, Senior Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that Pakistan and Hungary have good potential to improve bilateral trade and both countries should encourage frequent exchange of business delegations to explore all untapped areas of mutual cooperation. 
 
He said Hungary was located in the heart of Europe while Pakistan was a gateway to get easy access to South & Central Asia, Middle East and other regions. He said geostrategic location of both countries offered tremendous scope for win-win outcomes by promoting ties, especially in trade and economic fields. 
 
M. Ashfaq Hussain Chatha, Vice President ICCI briefed the Hungarian counterparts about investment potential for foreign investors in the economy of Pakistan. He said there were good prospects for Hungarian investors to invest in Pakistan’s diverse sectors, especially in agriculture, information technology, automobiles, medicines, housing and alternative energy sources.
 
He said Hungary should help Pakistan in improving agriculture productivity by transferring latest technology and sharing advance knowledge & expertise. He said both countries should also strengthen cooperation in scientific and education fields to share knowledge and experience for mutual benefits. 
 
Ms. Agnes Van Zyl-Pandur, International Relations Directors of Hungarian National Trading House welcomed the ICCI delegation and discussed ways & means to further promote bilateral trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Hungary. She also briefed the delegation about the potential areas of mutual collaboration and stressed that private sectors should be given enhanced role to realize available potential of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
