A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by its President Mahfooz Elahi visited National Press Club to congratulate Afzal Butt for being elected as President. They also congratulated Asim Rana, General Secretary, Jehangir Minhas, Aziz Malik, Waseem Khan and other representatives on winning the election.
 
At this occasion, President ICCI said that National Press Club always elected honest and dedicated leadership, whereas ICCI also elects representatives through a democratic process to protect and safeguard the interests of the business community. He assured cooperation and coordination of ICCI with the National Press Club and stressed the Club to play its role to help address problems of the business community and the citizens of the Federal Capital.

The Chairman of Founder Group, Munawar Mughal expressing his views said that different organizations should show solidarity in looking after common interests of the citizens that include CDA union, Press Club, Newspapers Sellers Association, District and High Court Bar and Traders Action Committees. He said this course of action would mitigate problems of citizen and people would feel a sense of security in getting their legitimate rights.

The President of the National Press Club, Afzal Butt thanked ICCI for congratulating him and his team and said that journalist community will keep on identifying government weakness on the basis of “Pakistan First”.

He said that Journalists had faced tough time during previous governments and hoped that current democratic government will take measures to improve the economy and to give relief to the citizens of Pakistan.

Butt appreciated the proposal of forming a civil society organization including representatives of different unions and associations to highlight various problems of business community and citizens. He assured cooperation of National Press Club to ICCI in taking care of problems of the business community.
