A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by its President, Mr. Yassar Sakhi Butt visited Pak-China Friendship Centre and met with Chinese delegation headed by Mme.Geng Ying, Chairman of China Cultural Heritage Foundation.
The Chinese delegation was representing the sectors of oil and gas, construction, pottery, marble, gem and stones and solar energy which were on visit to Pakistan for improving bilateral trade between the two countries.
Yassar Sakhi Butt, President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry while addressing the delegation said that China was a sincere friend of Pakistan and playing an important role in its progress. We are all proud of friendship with China, which is long standing and has become even stronger as time goes by.
He said people of the two countries had deep love and affection for each other and it was need of the hour that bilateral relations between the two countries should be strengthened. He lauded that China has made unprecedented economic development over the last 30 years.
Pakistan’s exports to China should be enhanced through governmental support to businessmen for participation in trade fairs, exhibitions and to explore Chinese market for expansion of trade, he maintained.
President ICCI also stressed that Pakistan has enormous potential in coal mining and China could help us in overcoming the prevailing energy crisis and Pakistan could get expertise from China in energy sector.
Speaking on the occasion, Mme.Geng Ying, Chairman of China Cultural Heritage Foundation said that the purpose of their visit was to strengthen friendship of the two countries to new heights through exchange of business delegations.
She also called for holding of more cultural and trade related workshops and seminars in China and Pakistan, to educate and create awareness amongst stakeholders about the trade potential.
At the end of meeting, Mr. Yassar Sakhi Butt, President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has presented shield to Mme.Geng Ying, Chairman of China Cultural Heritage Foundation.
