The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has called upon the Capital Development Authority to urgently address the water shortage issue in I-9 and I-10 sectors as due to non-availability of water, industrialists and the residents of the areas were facing great difficulties.

Atif Ikram Sheikh, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that CDA has constructed overhead water tanks in I-9 and I-10 sectors, but water supply system of CDA has failed to supply water to these tanks resultantly the industrialists and people of the areas were in trouble.

He said due to non-supply of water, increased number of people were approaching CDA for supply of water through its water tankers, but these tankers were not supplying water on time despite the fact that CDA was spending thousands of rupees on diesel/petrol to run these vehicles. He urged that CDA should address this issue on top priority to ease the woes of the industrialists and residents of the area.

Sheikh Pervez Ahmed Senior Vice President and Sheikh Abdul Waheed Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry stressed that CDA should dig bores in these areas to supply water through tube wells as the water supply system of CDA was not supplying water to overhead water tanks. They said CDA was supplying bored water to sector I-8 through tube wells due to which there was no issue of water shortage and emphasized that CDA should make similar arrangements in I-9 and I-10 sectors to ensure water supply which was basic need of human life.
