Trade fairs and catalogue exhibitions have not only facilitate the entrepreneurs and business owners but also highlight the soft image of the country.
The trade fairs provide an excellent opportunity of connecting in the areas of interest, thus Pakistan should regularly organize different types of these events that would not help Pakistan in accelerating trade and investment, but would also boost the declining tourism sector, Mahfooz Elahi, President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) has said, while in a meeting at ICCI.
ICCI President stated that China, Dubai and Germany are the classic examples of well organized international trade fairs/centers, where businessmen from all over the world converge.
In order to strengthen the efforts to promote Pakistan’s cultural heritage, the Government must allocate substantial amount from its annual development budget (PSDP) for promotion of arts and culture, he opinioned.
Mahfooz Elahi was of the view that trade fairs and catalogue exhibitions represent a significant opportunity for exporters to enhance their brand and product visibility and to promote new and existing products.
TDAP and BOI should jointly facilitate the flow of foreign direct investment (FDI), establish partnerships, expand market share and develop domestic commerce and transfer of technology, he added.
ICCI President said that trade fairs and exhibitions could help put the economy on track because they were the key to exhibit the untapped potentials of Pakistan and to introduce Pakistan’s products in the world market. Pakistan has to make an extra effort in promoting exports by arranging trade fairs and exhibitions, he emphasized.
