Security Plan for Federal Capital should be revised-Mahfooz Elahi

The Government must shift the high security offices, operating in the residential areas of the capital city to the highly secured zone to lessen the woes of citizens, which they were facing because of the presence of these missions.

Several roads have been blocked because of security reasons by Islamabad Police, but number of roads and streets were blocked by various organizations on self-security basis. Unnecessary barriers should be removed from various places for the facilitation of general public, Mahfooz Elahi, President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) has said in a statement.

He said that many organizations have occupied the CDA places illegally which must be vacated. Rehman Malik, Federal Minister for interior should give directions to revise the security plan for Capital and remove the unnecessary barriers including in front of the DG passport office road, he emphasized.

ICCI President was of the view that high security offices like; immigration office, passport office and military agencies offices must be shifted to the highly secured zones and out of Public areas.

He said that DG passport office was located near I&T Centre G-8/1, barriers on this road should be removed by Islamabad Police. General public and business activities of the market were affected very badly due to these unnecessary placements of barriers, he added.

Mahfooz Elahi urged Administration of Islamabad to make a strategy for removal of these barriers and eliminate illegal occupations for the facilitation of traders and public.
