CDA asked to complete remaining development works in Super Market

With the efforts of ICCI, the CDA had initiated development works in markets including F-6 Markaz, Super Market, Islamabad, which was laudable and it should complete the remaining development works in Super Market including installation of filtration plant, addressing sanitation and sewerage issues to upgrade this important business centre of the federal capital at par with well-developed commercial areas. This demand was made by Shehzad Shabbir Abbasi, President, Traders Welfare Association (TWA), F-6 Markaz, Islamabad while speaking at the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He visited ICCI along with a delegation of TWA, Super Market and apprised the ICCI Office Bearers of the key issues of his market. Sheikh Dawood Senior Vice President, Amir Rahim Qureshi Vice President, Saqib Taj Abbasi Secretary General, Chaudhry Muhammad Usman Mazhar Additional Secretary General, Asif Ahmad Khan Joint Secretary, Tabish Iftikhar Malik Finance Secretary, Muhammad Sajjad Papu Press Secretary and other members of TWA Super Market, Islamabad were in the delegation.
Amir Rahim Qureshi Vice President, Saqib Taj Abbasi Secretary General, TWA Super Market said that the National Assembly has already passed the amended bill of rent control act for Islamabad, which was a very positive development and urged that the Senate of Pakistan should also pass this bill as soon as possible to address this long-standing issue of the trading community. They said that the small businesses have suffered huge losses due to Covid-19 pandemic and stressed that the government should provide them small loans so that they could revive their businesses.
Addressing the delegation, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that he along with Chairman CDA Amir Ali Ahmed has already conducted visits to various markets in Islamabad starting from the Super Market, F-6 Markaz, Islamabad to assess the needs of development works. He said that CDA has started the development works in various markets, which would facilitate the better growth of business activities.  He said that ICCI would organize a top notch shopping festival in Islamabad in coming Ramadan in which markets and commercial centres of the federal capital would participate. It would provide traders a good opportunity to boost their businesses by offering discounts to customers, he added. He said ICCI would also try to organize an arts and crafts exhibition to promote business activities of this sector. He further said that ICCI would organize a digital summit in near future to register the businesses of this region on e-commerce platform so that they could promote their business activities through this business model. It would also support the PM’s vision for promoting digital economy. He assured that ICCI would extend all possible cooperation to the TWA, Super Market for resolving problems of the traders.
Fatma Azim Senior Vice President, Abdul Rehman Khan Vice Presidnt ICCI, Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi, Ajmal Baloch, Ch. Nadeem ud Din, Muhammad Hussain, Sheikh Abdul Waheed, Saeed Khan, Khalid Chaudhry and others also spoke at the occasion and stressed that Senate of Pakistan should pass the bill of rent control act before its coming elections to make it into a law that would help traders in promoting activities with more confidence and sense of security.
