CDA Chairman assures to address key issues of business community

A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by its President Ahmed Hassan Moughal held at meeting with Amir Ali Ahmed, Chairman CDA in his office and apprised him of the key issues of traders and industrialists. 
 
Addressing the delegation, Amir Ali Ahmed, Chairman CDA said that industrialists should be allowed to conduct multi-trades on industrial plots and the civic body would consider this proposal to facilitate them. He said CDA would try to streamline the lease renewal process for business community, which should be implemented across the board. He said that commercial centers and markets should have underground car parking and CDA would try to provide car parking in all major markets. He said CDA was working in collaboration with ICT Traffic Police to streamline traffic flow in the federal capital and for this purpose, construction of overhead bridges and U-turn at required placed were under consideration. He said that ICCI would be invited to the meeting of CDA Master Plan Review Committee to get input of business community.

He said that he would soon visit Kahuta Industrial Triangle to examine its issues for resolution. He assured that efforts would be made to resolve all highlighted issues of business community. 
 
Speaking at the occasion, Ahmed Hassan Moughal, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that CDA Board in a meeting had approved automatic extension of 33-years leases up to 99-years leases, but the decision was not implemented as yet and stressed that the civic body should implement this decision. He said that the condition of NOC from Building Control Section for lease renewal of commercial plots was major hurdle and urged that CDA should abolish this condition.  He said CDA should allow multi-trades on industrial plots that would give boost to industrial activities. He said Super Market, Blue Area, F-8, F-10 and other business centers were facing serious issues of car parking and CDA should build parking plazas in all major markets. He said CDA Board had approved construction of one additional storey in markets, but CDA has determined very high charges for it that were not affordable and stressed that the Authority should revise these high charges. He said Kahuta Industrial Triangle was devoid of facilities including roads, footpaths, water supply, sewerage etc. and urged that CDA should focus on better development of this industrial estate.
