CDA should simplify commercial & industrial buildings regulations – ICCI

CDA should review its building regulations for commercial and industrial units to upgrade them according to present day's requirements and make them attractive for investors. This was said by Mr. Mehmood Ahmad Warraich, Senior Vice President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry while addressing a meeting of businessmen after inaugurating a café shop in F-6, Super Market, Islamabad.
 
He said that CDA should also simply the complicated industrial plots transfer procedures to facilitate new investors. He said that many investors have shown keen interest to make investment in industrial estates. However, CDA’s complicated and lengthy procedures of transferring plots were a big hurdle for such investors.
 
ICCI Senior Vice President said that CDA should also simplify allocation of trades as many businessmen had complaints from CDA on this account. He stressed upon the civil body to allocate new trades as per current day’s requirements so that youth could feel facilitated in starting new business ventures.
 
The businessmen said that they were facing many problems from CDA in smooth promotion of their businesses. Therefore, they emphasized for close coordination and good working relationship between CDA and ICCI for better solution of entrepreneurs problems.
 
They also called upon the CDA to play an enabling role and facilitate the growth of trade and industrial activities. CDA’s cooperation will help in expanding businesses, improving trade & exports, creating new jobs and strengthening the local economy, they observed.
