ICCI honors visiting UK Media Cricket Team with medals

The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry hosted the visiting Pakistani origin UK Media cricket team and honored the team members with medals at a function held at Chamber House.  
 
Wajahat Ali Khan was the head of delegation while A. Haq was team captain. The team was comprised of Sajjad Shawl, Rana Babar, G. H. Awan, Ghufran Ashraf, Tahir Ali, Kausar Kazmi, Mobeen Chauhary, Amir Khan, M. Gulistan, Yasir Abbas, Waseem Kazmi, Khalil Ahmed, Mohammed Irfan, Dalawar Chaudhary, Tahir Chaudhry, Sir Buland and Shokat Dar.
 
Speaking at the occasion, Ahmed Hassan Moughal, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry welcomed the UK Media cricket team at ICCI and thanked them for visiting Pakistan. He said that Pakistan was now a peaceful country and international players should visit Pakistan with confidence. He said UK Media cricket team should contribute to promoting soft image of Pakistan in UK and outside world as they have seen the factual position in our country. He desired that England cricket team should visit Pakistan to play cricket matches that would help in bringing back international cricket to our country. He said that revival of international cricket in Pakistan would also give boost to business and investment activities leading to improving economy of the country.
 
Rafat Farid Senior Vice President and Iftikhar Anwar Sethi Vice President ICCI and others also spoke at the occasion and stressed that such visits should continue on regular basis to promote Pakistan as an attractive good destination for sports, business and investment activities. 
Speaking at the occasion, Wajahat Ali Khan, Head of UK Media cricket team delegation said that the purpose of their visit was to promote the cause of dam fund and sports interest of Pakistan. He said their team played cricket matches against Karachi and Lahore Press Clubs and they were happy to see peaceful conditions in Pakistan. He said that British Airways has announced to start flights for Pakistan after 10 years which reflected that peace has returned to Pakistan. He said their visit to Pakistan would send very positive signals to UK and other countries.

He also assured that Pakistani origin journalists in UK would work hard for promoting soft image of Pakistan so that international cricket, business and investment could flourish in Pakistan. 
 
Dalawar Chaudhary and other members of UK Media cricket team also spoke at the occasion and asserted that bringing international cricket back to Pakistan was their priority.
