Muhammad Shakeel Munir, Senior Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a farewell dinner in honor of Mr. Dragos Cosmin LUCA, Deputy Head of Mission of Romania and his spouse. Muzzamil Hussain Sabri President, M. Ashfaq Hussain Chatha Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Khalid Javed & Mian Shaukat Masud former Presidents ICCI, H.E. Mr. Emilion Ion, Ambassador of Romania, Mr. Fernando Heredia Noguer, Charge D’Affairs of Spain, Ms. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Charge D’Affairs of Sri Linka, Mr. Liu, First Secretary of China and others also present at the occasion.

 

Addressing the event, Muzzamil Hussain Sabri, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that Pakistan and Romania should focus on enhancing bilateral trade and economic relations as both countries have good potential to promote cooperation in many areas. He said Pakistan and Roman have good scope to promote collaboration, especially in agriculture, alternate energy and information technology. 

 

He said both countries should focus on facilitating connectivity between their private sectors so that businessmen of Pakistan and Romania could be able to explore all untapped areas of mutually beneficial cooperation. He assured that ICCI would work with Embassy of Romania to develop strong linkages among the businessmen of both countries for further increasing two-way trade.

 

Mr. Emilion Ion, Ambassador of Romania stressed the need for strengthening trade with Pakistan. He urged the local business community to evolve an effective and sector-specific strategy in collaboration with Romanian counterparts for increasing the volume of bilateral trade. He said fast-changing global scenario demands an enhanced economic activity and exchange of trade delegations and joint exhibitions were pre-requisite to bring two-way trade between Pakistan and Romania up to the desired level. 

 

Mr. Farnando Heredia Noguer Charge D’Affairs of Spain, Ms. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe Charge D’Affairs of Sri Linka and Mr. Liu, First Secretary of China also spoke at the occasion and expressed strong desire to further strengthen trade ties of their respective countries with Pakistan.
