Pakistan was founded on the basis of an ideology and it is our collective responsibility to keep this ideology alive and vibrant in the minds of our youth, ensuring its continuation and relevance for generations to come. The media, in particular, has a prime responsibility to play a pivotal role in this endeavor, serving as a catalyst to inspire and educate our young people about the country's founding principles and values.
This has been stated by prominent philanthropist, vibrant business leader, former President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Secretary General United Business Group Zafar Bakhtawari during a banquet reception hosted in honour of a large group of senior journalists belonging to Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists ( PFUJ ) which visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the leadership of senior and well-known journalist Nawaz Raza.
He observed that the country is currently passing through a critical phase, facing numerous challenges. Terrorists are hell-bent to cause harm, political polarization is intensifying and politicians are unwilling to engage in dialogue. Our adversaries are relentlessly hatching conspiracies to destabilize Pakistan by attempting to create a rift between the nation and its armed forces. Zafar Bakhtawari made a resolute pledge to thwart at all costs the enemy's attempts to undermine our armed forces' morale. He stressed that our army's sacrifices are unmatched and it is imperative to support and boost its morale at this critical juncture. He cautioned that demoralization of a country's armed forces can have catastrophic consequences, therefore, it must be prevented.
He also praised the current government of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for its bold initiatives aimed at stabilizing the economy, particularly its efforts to control inflation, manage the dollar exchange rate, and regulate petrol prices, which are key indicators of economic health.
Nasir Qureshi, President of the Industrial Area Association and candidate for the presidency of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry urged media professionals to promote positivity among the youth, rather than negativity, to inspire it to work hard and contribute to country's economic growth and nation-building efforts.
He further stated that our youth enjoys immense potential to serve the country in the best possible way and all that is needed is to instill a sense of hope and opportunity among them to prevent brain drain.
Nawaz Raza, in his remarks, lavishly praised Zafar Bakhtawari, describing him as Pakistan's Ambassador at Large in recognition of his selfless services to the nation in various fields and his generosity and hospitality. He also expressed his strong support for inspiring hope and optimism among the country's youth, empowering them to effectively tackle the current challenges facing the nation.
He also commended Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari for his outstanding leadership as President of the Chamber, which has significantly enhanced its reputation through his dynamic and visionary approach.
