PBIT Chairman asks business community to capitalize on investment opportunities in Punjab

A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by its President Ahmed Hassan Moughal called on Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan and congratulated him on being appointed as Chairman, Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT). Iftikhar Anwar Sethi Vice President ICCI, Zubair Ahmed Malik Chairman Founder Group, Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi Vice President FPCCI, Abdul Rauf Alam, Khalid Javed, Mian Akram Farid, Khalid Iqbal Malik, Nasir Qureshi, Ch. Waheed ud Din, Karim Aziz Malik, Muzzamil Sabri, Ch. Naseer Ahmed, Khalid Chaudhry and others were in the delegation.
 
Addressing the ICCI delegation, Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan said that Punjab offered great investment opportunities in various sectors of its economy and business community should capitalize on these opportunities to maximize their business prospects. He said that Pakistan badly needed foreign and local investment to revive economy and boost exports and vowed that PBIT would make all possible efforts to facilitate the investors in investing in Punjab. He stressed that local business community should come forward to explore investment prospects in Punjab that would give more confidence to the foreign investors. He assured that PBIT would take measures to address issues of investors and create conducive environment for trade and investment in the province.
 
Speaking at the occasion, Ahmed Hassan Moughal, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry appreciated the initiative of Punjab Chief Minister for appointing Sardar Tanvir Ilyas Khan, as Chairman, PBIT. He said Sardar Tanvir Ilyas has been instrumental in bringing investments of billions of dollars in Pakistan during the past decade and hoped that being Chairman PBIT, he would bring more investment in the country.
 
He said that strong economies of the world had benefitted from the experiences of rising entrepreneurs and said that the step of Punjab Government for appointing Chairman PBIT from private sector was laudable as it would help in promoting investment in the province. He said that transforming Pakistan from an agricultural to an industrialized country was the need of the hour to promote exports, create new jobs, reduce unemployment and poverty. He said facilitation of PBIT would go a long way in achieving this goal. He assured that ICCI would fully cooperate with PBIT in its endeavors aimed at promoting investment and trade in Punjab.
