A delegation of the United Group led by its Chairman Abid Khan visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry to congratulate the newly elected Office Bearers of ICCI. Malik Nadeem Akhtar, Mohammad Saleem, Syed Tariq and others were in the delegation. Former ICCI Presidents Khalid Javed, Zubair Ahmed Malik, Tariq Sadiq, Mian Shaukat Masood, Zafar Bakhtawari, Mohammad Ijaz Abbasi and others were also present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Abid Khan, Chairman, United Group, said that his Group would cooperate with ICCI in efforts for resolving the key issues of the business community so that the business activities could flourish smoothly and that would help in reviving the local economy. He said that the main objective of the United Group and Founder Group is to protect the interests of the business community and both groups were on the same page on common issues. He further said that the United Group and Founder Group have promoted a democratic culture in the business community by participating in the ICCI elections and increased the voting power of members, which is encouraging.
Muhammad Shakeel Munir, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry speaking at the occasion, thanked the United Group Chairman Abid Khan and members of his delegation for visiting ICCI to congratulate the newly elected team. He said that ICCI is the premier representative body of the business community of Islamabad and is working for resolution of the issues of members regardless of their affiliation with any group.  He said that the United Group should keep sending its suggestions to ICCI so that in the light of its suggestions, ICCI could work with the relevant departments for resolving the key issues of the business community.
Jamshed Akhtar Sheikh, Senior Vice President, and Muhammad Faheem Khan, Vice President, ICCI said that the United Group has set a healthy tradition by visiting ICCI to congratulate the new team and hoped that this good tradition would be continued in future as well. They assured that the newly elected team led by Muhammad Shakeel Munir President ICCI would work hard for serving the cause of all the members without considering their affiliation with any group. They said that if any member of the business community is facing any problem, he can approach ICCI so that the Chamber could help address issues.
Former ICCI Presidents Khalid Javed, Zubair Ahmad Malik, Tariq Sadiq, Mian Shaukat Masood, Zafar Bakhtawari, Ijaz Abbasi and others also spoke at the occasion. They said that the issues of the business community could be resolved more effectively with unity and reaffirmed that the Founder Group and United Group would continue to work in unity for promoting the common interests of the business community.
