Accordingly, henceforth local administration will collect the employees’ social security contribution from Islamabad-based industries, which was previously being collected by the Punjab Employees Social Security Institution.
Presiding over the meeting, Mr. Mahmood Ahmed Warraich, Senior Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry termed it a very wise decision as this arrangement will provide better social security services to industrial workers of Islamabad and will also rid the industries of the federal capital from the blackmailing tactics of Punjab Employees Social Security Institution.
He said it was a long standing demand of the local industries that ICT should take over the collection of Employees Social Security contribution from Punjab Government as industrialists were experiencing many undue pressure tactics from PESSI on this account while the industrial workers of federal capital were also facing lot of problems in getting better services from PESSI.
The businessmen thanked the Chief Commissioner ICT for meeting their long due demand and hoped that collection of employees social security contribution by the ICT will produce better results for the employees as well as for the local industry. They assured the ICT of their best cooperation for providing better social security services to industrial workers and uplifting their living standards.
