- August 27, 2019
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) have not undertaken any development work in local markets for the last many years due to which the condition of markets has deteriorated badly. Ali Nawaz Awan, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on CDA Affairs, Amir Ali Ahmed Chairman CDA and Sheikh Answer Aziz Mayor Islamabad should take note of this situation and issue orders for initiating development works in local markets on priority basis. This was demanded by Ahmed Hassan Moughal, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry in a statement.
Ahmed Hassan Moughal said that CDA affairs were running smoothly, but ever since the establishment of MCI, difficulties of citizens of Islamabad have increased manifold. He said that MCI has made unjustified increase in property and other taxes. He said that many local markets were presenting dilapidated look and were affecting the image of Islamabad. He said that MCI has badly failed in the federal capital and urged that CDA should be assigned to undertake all development works in Islamabad including industrial and commercial areas so that business activities could flourish and local economy could be improved.
