ICCI for focusing on Asia Pacific region for trade

Pakistan should focus on Asia Pacific countries for promoting and exports as these countries are a big market for Pakistani products.

This was said by Mr.Zahid Maqbool, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) in a statement before departing to Sri Lanka.

He will be participating in the 24th Confederation of Asia Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) Conference, which is being held jointly with the Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2010 from July 5-7, 2010.

The theme for this year’s joint event is "Facing Global and Local Challenges: The New Dynamics of Economic Development".

ICCI President will return back on July 13, 2010. During his absence, Mr.Karim Aziz Malik, Vice President of ICCI will perform as Acting President of the Chamber.

Mr.Zahid Maqbool hoped that the event will provide him a good opportunity of establishing direct linkages with participating entrepreneurs of Asia Pacific region and will also help in exploring new avenues of promoting Pakistan’s trade and exports with these countries.
