ICCI strongly condemns terrorists attack on Ismailis at Karachi

The business community in a meeting at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry strongly condemned the terrorists attack on a bus carrying members of the Ismaili community near Safoora Chowk in Karachi killing about 45 people including 25 men and 16 women. They expressed heartfelt condolences for the bereaved families and prayed that Allah the Almighty may keep the departed souls in eternal peace.  
Muzzamil Hussain Sabri President, Muhammad Shakeel Munir Senior Vice President and Muhammad Ashfaq Hussain Chatha Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that the whole nation shared the grief of the Ismaili community and was stood with them in this moment of extreme sadness. They said the Ismaili community was making useful contribution to the economic development of the country and government should take urgent measures to ensure enhanced security for this community. They said the anti-state elements who brutally massacred the innocent people have no faith and such elements should be crushed with iron hands.  
 
They said Karachi was the hub of commercial and industrial activities in the country and such brutal acts of terrorism were aimed at destroying the peace and economy of Pakistan. They called upon the government to work on war footing basis for the arrest of killers and give them exemplary punishment. 
 
They said the Rangers, police and other law enforcing agencies were making good efforts to improve law and order situation in Karachi and they appealed to the citizens of the metropolitan to extend full cooperation to these forces for purging the city of all terrorists and criminals. 
 
They said Karachi generated about 60 percent to 70 percent revenue of the country and stressed that government should utilize all possible means and resources to restore peace in this mega city for better economic development of the country. They said Pakistan has suffered more than $100 billion due to terrorism and whole nation should stand united along with armed forces to rid the country of the menace of terrorism and extremism.
