Islamabad Police Traffic asked to arrange reflectors on road blocks to avoid accidents

The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has shown great concerns over the rising accidents in Islamabad due to absence of reflectors on speed breakers and concrete blocks put on roads and called upon the Islamabad Traffic Police to immediately arrange reflectors at all such places to avoid such tragic accidents in Islamabad.
 
Sheikh Amir Waheed, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that the last night two cousins of Muhammad Shakeel Munir, former Senior Vice President of ICCI while travelling on motorbike slammed into a concrete block put on road and have died. This happened because there was no reflector on the block due to which they could not see the road blocker. He said if ICT Traffic Police had arranged reflector on the block, the tragic incident could have been avoided. He stressed that ICT Traffic Police should urgently arrange reflectors at all road blockers and speed breakers to avoid more such tragic incidents. 
 
He said whenever any political party or any other organization announces to bring rally to Islamabad, the federal capital is closed by placing containers and blocks on roads. This situation badly damages the business activities and creates lot of problems for patients and the citizens. He emphasized that ICT administration should earmark a dedicated place out of Islamabad for rallies and protests so that business activities may not suffer and citizens may not face unnecessary problems in Islamabad. 
 
Muhammad Naveed Senior Vice President and Nisar Mirza Vice President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that ICT Traffic Police should also arrange reflectors and night warning signs on containers placed on roads as well as at all U-turns in Islamabad so that night travelers’ could become careful in time and avoid any unfortunate accident.
 
They said due to absence of reflectors and night warning signs, the vehicular traffic including the cars drivers, motorcyclists and cyclists and even pedestrians have to face difficulties due to which the road accidents have become routine matter in the federal capital. They called upon the Islamabad Traffic Police to take urgent measures for arranging reflectors and night warning signs at all relevant places on roads to avoid accidents due to absence of reflectors.
