Pakistan Foreign Policy should be dictated by economic team, who can take Pakistan to new heights where we are not dependent upon just one country. It is going to be the business community/economic team who have to lead in developing a positive foreign policy of Pakistan.
We need to think out of box and take a proactive approach to overcome the current challenges which has been facing by Pakistan, Mahfooz Elahi, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry has said in a statement.
ICCI President was of the view that economic team could devise foreign policy more patently which would ultimately bring more foreign direct investment and diversify and enhance our export base.
He said that in 21st century, we do not see conventional war but an economic war which would take a country down. The economic team along with business community needs to devise a policy which would identify regions of the world where Pakistani goods and services could grow.
He cited the example of China whose foreign policy has been dictated by economic team for decades.
ICCI president said that it was the economic team who could set the roadmap and augment economic and commercial interests of Pakistan. They could also formulate an agenda especially driven out by economic interests which would be helpful in enhancing strategic and pragmatic ties with other countries of the world.
