Well educated 3rd generation can play a positive role in the economic development of Pakistan – Zahid Maqbool

Well trained and skillful youth plays a useful role in the economic development of a country and it is important to develop our youth for their positive contribution in the economic progress of Pakistan, stated Zahid Maqbool, President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

A large population of our country is comprised of youth and there is a need to equip them well with the latest knowledge to exploit their tremendous potential and capabilities in different sectors, he said.

Mr.Zahid Maqbool said that in a population of around 170 million about 58.1 million population (15-24 years) is comprised of youth, therefore, with the development of skillful youth, our country can meet a number of future economic challenges, which at present in trouble waters due to multiple factors.

It is encouraging that various universities are imparting latest knowledge to the students so that after education they can play a significant role in number of sectors, but still there is a great need to establish more universities in the public and private sectors to deliver quality education to our 3rd generation, who has to play it useful role in our country’s economic development, said President ICCI.

President ICCI said 3rd generation is the future of Pakistan; therefore, government should put more stress to train them as per the emerging world requirements. He said that we should not waste the Human capital and must provide them opportunities for their effective contribution in our society.

President also emphasized for the establishment of more vocational training institutes across the country, because due to lack of technical people and unavailability of required workforce, industries and other sector cannot perform well. He said that trained workforce can help in reducing unemployment and bridging the gap for availability of skilled labour in the various industries.

Mr.Zahid Maqbool said that Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry has been paying its role in developing entrepreneurship culture in youth and has held many training programs and forum in this regards. He said that in near future, ICCI will start a new program for women postgraduates for their employability in the corporate sector.
